Mr. Quarter Follows Up - Coming Obama Scandal

I stumbled on this in the NY Post today in an article by Charles Gasparino:

"Execs of the big Wall Street firms, including Goldman, tell me they felt compelled to bail out a failed Chicago bank a few months ago, because of Shorebank's close ties to the president and his senior adviser Valerie Jarrett. Even when the bank went under, the Wall Street money remained in a newly constituted institution that later emerged when the federal government (ie, the taxpayers) took over all the bad debts while the old management went back to the same mission of unprofitable albeit politically correct lending.

Why would some of the most savvy businessmen in America throw good money after bad? Because offending the administration might be suicidal."


Could this be the bud of the banking scandal that insiders are intimating will bring down the Obama administration? Stay tuned.

Mr. Quarter on the Coming Obama Scandal

In surveying various blogs on the internet, I stumbled upon one that is particularly interesting in that it purports to be in communication with a party identified as "White House Insider" or WHI. Now WHI is from time to time sharing insights into the politics of the moment, stuff that you just don't see in the media. For some time now, WHI has been alluding to a coming scandal in the Obama White House that will bring down the President. The trigger has been the election of a Republican House - the Democrat leadership in congress has apparently been suppressing this for some time and the MSM simply hasn't put the whole story together. So here a few snippets of what may be the outside edges of the scandal - lets watch the news over the next few months and see if this is the where the scandal erupts.

In April 2010, the FDIC shutdown the Broadway Bank of Chicago. A final report was scheduled for prior to the elections, then rescheduled for after the elections, and still hasn't been issued. Obama's campaign has used this bank as a depository for their campaign funds in the past.

Alexi Giannoulis was a VP of the bank, and also ran for the former Obama senate seat this cycle and was defeated. He has long standing connections to Obama politically and as a fund raiser. He has connections to Blogojevich. He was recorded on tape in Blogojevich investigation advocating for Valerie Jarret to be appointed to Obama's former senate seat.

It was claimed that Giannoulis lent substantial sums ($13M) to Tony Rezko for development projects. Giannoulis also lent Obama money to buy his home at discounted rates so that he could afford the payments.

The scandal? Don't know and would only be speculating. However, WHI is suggesting that the scandal will originate in Chicago and that it has a thread that runs through all of the actors mentioned.

We will wait and see.

Other WHI tidbits:
1. Pelosi is P.O.ed at Obama and is willing to do a scorched earth departure from the House. He aim is to torpedo Obama for 2012. She is apparently ticked at having carried the water only be be left swinging in the wind.
2. Pelosi is actively talking to the Clintons about 2012.
3. Sounds a lot like H. Clinton will be making a run at Obama for the 2012 nomination.
4. Democrats that are the politicos are mortified at what they got with Obama and are working to isolate the party from him in anticipation of the coming scandal.

The Deuce And Zombies

Twenty year old men go to sleep at night and dream of making sweet love to beautiful women...forty year old men go to sleep at night and dream of slaughtering their enemies. But before going to sleep, more and more boys and men are gunning down zombies with boundless glee!

What is it about killing zombies that so enthralls men of all ages? From movies like Night of the Living Dead, 28 Days Later, I Am Legend and Resident Evil to video games too numerous to name to TV shows like The Walking Dead, killing zombies has never known such halcyon days. Is it mindless slaughter? Is it the primal urge? Is it relief from the pent-up stress of modern living? Is it insanity? Or is it just boys being boys having good clean fun?

It may be all of the above, or none. I'm not sure. But I am sure of this; when the virus gets loose and the zombies are running rampant in their endless search for brains to eat, and modern society has broken down to the basest level of survival, THERE ARE NO MORE RULES.

No more rules. That's the key I think. With every year that goes by, humanity is buried under more and more rules. In America, every session of Congress brings another wave of laws, regulations and restrictions to further control us. Like Gulliver, we are tied down by thousands of thin strands of regulation to the point we can not move without running afoul of one law or another.

But when the zombies are loose, all of those laws go out the window. You arm yourself to the hilt with guns, swords, knives and axes. Enough weapons to make both Schwartzenegger and Stallone green with envy. You're only concern is staying alive. Find food, water and security for the night. During the day, kill anything that moves. Life is, as Hobbes described, "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short." But, and it's a big but, life is also simple.

Simplicity. Grossly under-valued today. Imagine, no more sweating the never ending decline of your 401(k), or wondering if Social Security will still be around when you're old enough to collect, or if qauntitative easing will trigger hyper-inflation and wipe out your savings. No more rush hour, or endlessly unproductive meetings at work that accomplish nothing except rob you of hours of your life. No more days of feeling foolish trying to get your new 72" flat screen connected to your cable receiver, dvr and dvd player. No more hours wasted talking to Indians trying to fix your virus infected computer, or synching your iPod to your iPad to your iPhone to your iScrewthis! No more thousands of dollars wasted converting your albums to cassettes, you cassettes to CDs and your CDs to digital MP3 files. No more forking out thousands to upgrade your PS1 to PS2, your PS2 to PS3 and upgrading all the games to go with them.

Zombie land is so much easier, and it's all under your control. You decide how best to survive the day, not some schmuck in Washington trying to dictate what caliber ammo you can or can't use to waste the brain eaters. No sour puss do-gooders to berate you when you light up a Marlboro after a long day of species cleansing. No bills or endless junk mail in the mail box. No MSNBC or Jersey Shore or minute to minute updates on Lindsey Lohan's struggles to find peace in a cruel, cruel world.

Just peace and quiet, with occasional scattered automatic weapons fire.

No more rules. No more dictats. No more being controlled. No more parasitic weaklings demanding my help to keep them alive and comfortable.

Zombies. God, please, bring them on. It's got to be better than this.

The Deuce And The Golden Hour

The medical community has a term they use to describe the time period trauma victims have to receive treatment if they are to have a chance of surviving their injuries. They call it the "golden hour".

America is a trauma victim, traumatized by President Obama's insane dash into socialism, and it's golden hour ends on November 2, 2010, election day. If America is to survive as a nation of free people, effective treatment must be administered on that day.

So what is the effective treatment? You know what it is. Every single supporter of Obama's policies must be voted out of the House, out of the Senate and out of the governor's mansions. ALL OF THEM! Do this, and we have our chance at survival. We will still be gravely injured, but the bleeding will stop and we have a chance of stabilizing...and living until the wound that is Obama can finally be healed in 2012.

The predictions are that Republicans, many conservatives, will win at least 50 House seats, enough to rest the House majority from the socialists. This is enough to prevent further descent into chaos. Conservatives will have enough votes to ensure Cap and Tax, Card Check and "comprehensive immigration reform" will never become law and the bankrupting of America can be stopped IF conservatives hold their ground! And judging from experience, that is, unfortunately, a big if. The repeal of Obamacare will have to wait.

Set aside any cynicism you may hold. Don't believe that America's best days are behind her. For God's sake, vote for conservatives on November 2nd! There are good and decent people running who still believe in the things that created America. Liberty, honor, free enterprise, equality under the law, self reliance, charity...and God.

If you don't, America is dead, and truly free people will disappear from the Earth.

The Deuce and Spending

Who spends the most money? Who buys the most worthless crap just 'cause they can? Just 'cause they've got more money than they know what to do with? Just 'cause they feel like it and they've got nothing better to do?

It's not Paris Hilton. Ms. Hilton could go on a life time cocaine jag in Vegas and not even come close. She could buy the most expensive Champagne and Courvoisier by the vat to keep her posse properly lubed, spend 36 hours at a stretch at the $100k limit blackjack tables, buy everything in sight at the luxury shops of Gucci and Chanel, and she wouldn't even come close to being the most profligate spender in America. When it comes to spending, Paris might as well be a welfare queen spending her monthly allotment at Wal-Mart. She's a C-list amateur, not even worthy of mention.

It's not Oprah. Oprah could give away 200 cars every show, along with mink coats, luxury cruises and life time spa vacations and she wouldn't come close to being the most wasteful spender in America. She could buy a mansion in every state and decorate them with solid gold bathroom fixtures and works of art by Da Vinci and Michelangelo and those Elephants that paint, with ten Lamborghini's in the hangar-sized garages...all to no avail. A piker, a pretender...a wanna be.

Bill Gates? Warren Buffet? George Soros? PA-LEASE! Their combined net worth is what? Less than $100 billion. That's nothing! Each of them could buy their own country and populate it with nothing but Playboy Bunnies and Penthouse Pets ( Haiti would probably sell for less than $1 billion, at least I wouldn't pay any more than that ). They could build their own Army, Navy and Air Force and outfit them with the most expensive planes and ships money can buy, and still they're no where near the top when it comes to blowing a buck.

So who is it? Who is the biggest buyer of bullshit? Who spends the most on the most worthless, idiotic and unnecessary crap in the history of humanity?

It's us. Americans. More precisely, it's our "elected representatives" in Congress who continue to feed trillions of dollars to water-head bureaucrats who have orgasms every time they spend tax payer money on something completely useless.

Hell, I could of told them that for half the money they spent. And who knew there was such a thing as The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism? It doesn't seem that Americans are getting their moneys worth out of this outfit. But hey, bureaucrats gotta get their jollies some how.

But we're just getting started. How about this one? $1.39 million down the tube!

"According to the description of the study on the NIH Web site, the research was developed in order to address 'the major global health problem of HIV prevention amongst married male labor migrants in Central Asia and the public health risk for an AIDS epidemic in Tajikistan.”

In the fevered minds of the NIH, AIDS prevention in Tajikistan is the responsibility of Ma and Pa Outofwork in Bankrupt, U.S.A. "Sorry kids, nothin' but corn flakes to eat again tonight. Gotta figure out that AIDS problem in...some damn place I never heard of."

Still more.

"...$325,394 in Mr. Obama's first stimulus plan that went to the University of Florida to determine how the environment affects the mating decision of female cactus-bugs. When we last checked on that project, it had created exactly one research technician's job."

What the hell is a cactus bug, and why is it so important that we know how they decide which bug stud is going to have a big night? For God's sake!

"Kenya gives Obama abortion, Islamic courts.
President's administration spent $23 million getting 'yes' vote on new constitution."

Hey, everybody knows the Kenyans couldn't get abortion and Sharia courts without $23 million in aid from Joe Sixpack and Susie Soccer! I mean, what do they need that money for? They've got unemployment and food stamps and Obamacare. Better Kenya should get the money. After all, Africans can't do anything on their own.

$23 million is chump change. Let's double it.

NEW YORK, Sept 21 (Reuters) - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will announce on Tuesday a U.S. contribution of more than $50 million toward providing clean cooking stoves in developing countries to reduce deaths from smoke inhalation and fight climate change.

Wha...Wha...WHAT? Developing countries are contributing to climate change? Why that's blasphemous! The honest, hard working indigenous peoples of Cookstovia are innocent of any wrong doing what so ever. It was in the New York Times man! Over and over and over again.

Ah, but I save the best for last.

(CNSNews.com) – The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), spent $823,200 of economic stimulus funds in 2009 on a study by a UCLA research team to teach uncircumcised African men how to wash their genitals after having sex.

GUFFAW! Economic "stimulus". Excuse me while I GUFFAW again. Yet another example of how those poor Africans need our money...to figure out how to scrub their love clubs! GUFFAW! I'm sorry, but it's so pathetically funny.

Such stupendously stupid spending would make Caligula blush in embarrassment.

We are all fools for allowing our elected morons to spend our tax payer dollars like this.

The Deuce And Muslims

Is it just me, or are Muslims the biggest trouble makers on the planet?

Wherever Muslims rub up against non-Muslims, there's fighting and bombings and massacres. In Holland, they murder cartoonists; in Paris they riot, burning every car in sight while stoning cops and firefighters; in Africa they form militias and slaughter Christians, Pagans and basically anything that moves that's not doing the head-knock five times a day. In Britain and Spain they like to blow up trains; in Gaza they love launching rockets into Israel; in Fiji they bomb nightclubs; in India they bomb hotels; in the U.S. they like to knock down skyscrapers and then build a mosque a couple of blocks away just to mark their turf.

Now here's the funny part.

"The Quran-burning controversy in the United States has prompted the Islamic bloc at the United Nations to revive its call for the U.N. to set up an “international monitoring mechanism” to track incidents of “Islamophobia.”

But it gets even better.

Introduced by Pakistan on behalf of the OIC, the text condemns “the recent call by an extremist group to organize a ‘Burn a Koran Day’” and says it was among “instances of intolerance, discrimination, profiling and acts of violence against Muslims occurring in many parts of the world.”

Man, life must really suck for Muslims. Imagine, they come home from a long day of slaughtering infidels only to have to put up with "intolerance, discrimination...profiling...". The Horror!

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "But Deuce, not all Muslims are psychotic killers, bent on converting or killing all infidels so as to create the Global Caliphate and bring the entire world under Shariah Law. The vast majority of Muslims, particularly in America, are peace-loving people who only want what the rest of Americans want; peace, prosperity and a better future for their children."

Well, that's one way to interpret the actions, or should I say inaction, of American Muslims. From where I sit, most Muslims in America are simply bidding their time to see which way the wind is going to blow. They don't want to get involved in the more radical aspects of Islamization, but on the other hand they don't want to publicly denounce those Muslims who do because they're afraid of them. They are content to sit back and let the chips fall where they may, waiting for a clear winner to emerge before they commit themselves to one culture or the other. In short, they're playing it safe.

It's what explains the continued existence of C.A.I.R, the Council of American-Islamic Relations, as the premiere Muslim organization in the U.S. Forgotten is the other name C.A.I.R. is known by, "unindicted co-conspirator."

And how deep is C.A.I.R. and it's fellow travellers embedded in America? How about congressional staffers on Capitol Hill? That deep enough for you?

So, what's the take away? It's this. Whenever and wherever you encounter "moderate Muslims", remember that they're not in the game. They don't matter. They may not be on the side of bomb throwing radical Jihadists, but they're not on our side either.

Whenever innocents are blown to bits by Muslims, every Imam in every mosque in American should be making public denunciations of the murderous violence practiced by their radical brethren. The congregation of every mosque in America should be marching in the streets protesting the perversion of their faith. American Muslims should be reporting the jihadists in their mosques to the FBI. American Muslims should be standing up in their mosques demanding that all Muslims all over the world shun the barbaric radicals that have turned Muslims into the most feared and hated group of people since the Nazis.

Until that happens...beware the "moderate Muslim."

Mr. Quarter on our National Identity

Honestly, the state of the country today is enough to make one want to climb aboard the mothership and fly away to a new place and start over. Just jettison the whole deal and move on to a clean slate. I have written previously of this lingering feeling that I have, that it may be time to find a defensible place and hunker down with my family until the worst of it all passes. Reading all the commentary is confusing, for every pessimistic article and opinion one finds an equally optimistic view point. I think what is most distressing is that it seems that the nation has lost its way.

As a nation and as individual citizens it seems our internal compasses are broken. We no longer can seem to agree on what is right or what is wrong. Black is white, strength is weakness, honesty and virtue are extremism, mendacity is virtue, self-interest is for the common good, there are no moral absolutes because everything is a shade of grey along some continuum.

A federal government that hovers over all, sincerely believing the sovereign states and their individual citizens lack the judgment to decide for themselves how they should spend their wealth and what they need to be happy. This is compounded by the stratification of society into ill defined overlapping classes and subclasses: the political elite; the media elite, the elite, the rich (if your are fortunate enough to earn greater than $250K/year), the middle class, the poor, black, white, Hispanic, Muslim, Jew, Christian, atheist, gay lesbian, bi-sexual, transgendered, and on and on and on. Everybody wants theirs, each is a political constituency that can swing an election in one direction or another, and few consider the common good as the best outcome. We are weak as a nation.

We the people eke out our living day after day while members of congress make a career of elective office, maneuvering themselves to wealth and power in the guise of “public service”. Who among the writers of the constitution would have dreamed that individuals might server 10 or 20 terms in the House of Representatives or six terms in the Senate? What would those men that put their own lives and wealth at risk say to the proposition that the members of congress and the administration are now the “political elite?” Self-interest and the accumulation of power is in the ascendancy and promoting the common good is in decline.

Is it nostalgic to long for a time when people knew the difference between right and wrong? When the nation and individuals were willing to do the hard things, the tough response, because that was what was right? A time when there existed the freedom to live your life as you saw fit and the awesome and complete responsibility to you for the outcome of your actions was morally correct. When the measures necessary to ensure the common good often meant that the people had to reach in and cut out the cancer that threatened the body of the nation or the community? Until we return to this we as a nation will continue to weaken and decline, just as Rome did.

I look around and see a nation of sedentary, overweight, and self-interested sheep. Few care that as a nation we cannot even produce sufficient young people to staff our armed forces because of lack of education and because they are too overweight to withstand the basic training regimen. Imagine that, our youth are too overweight to run 3 miles at day! What would we do as a nation if we were attacked? Are we so complacent and naive as to believe that no other country on earth could possibly covet our wealth enough to simply take if from us? Even the Afghan army has sufficient recruits; their biggest problem is illiteracy.

The status of our nation? It is fairly clear: we are divided from each other, uninterested, and disconnected from community and country. We are physically unfit to carry on the awesome responsibility that was handed to us by the generations that placed this country into our keeping. We are ruled by a government whose members do not consider the people to be their peers as they are “elite”, and to not believe that we are capable of managing our own lives. We are unwilling to do the hard work and unwilling to be responsible for our own actions. We are weak as a nation and growing steadily weaker.
